Ruth McLarnan

When we first bought our home on 39th & Country Club, I soon recognized a fellow gardener and loved of nature. I wish I had known Ruth better, but always treasured seeing her and her husband in their gardens, caring for the earth, and one another. Her spirit will be missed.

Ruth was a most special lady, she married my Grandfather Mark McLarnan very late in life. She stepped in to our bigger family with love and grace, and easily joined in for weddings, graduations, great grand children births. She was always there with a twinkle in her eyes, warm smiles and inspiration. She lovingly shared her passion for gardening, books, home making and walks with me. It was an honor to know her. May her special legacy live on and on. She will always hold a special place...

Aunt Ruth Marks was truly dear to me in so many ways. She will always be fondly remembered, loved, carried in my heart.

I met Ruth when I moved from the UK to the USA and Sioux City to marry her stepson Keith. She welcomed me like a daughter and introduced me to P.E.O., Travelers Book Club and Questers. Having to leave Sioux City for a new medical practice was hard but we kept up with phone calls and occasional visits. Ruth was an inspiration to a lot of people and I will miss her but glad that she had a long and productive life.
