Not sure what to say?

Ruth was a long time supporter of Oregon Contemporary Theatre formerly Lord Leedbrick Theatre. She attended most shows for close to 20 years. She attended with Dick H and a core group of people. Over the years Ruth and I spoke on the phone and always had engaging conversations. As the Box Office Manager I will miss her. On behalf of myself and the theater I would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation of Ruth and condolences to her family. I will miss her.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ruth a few years ago and found her to be a fascinating woman, and I feel privilege to have known her.

A lovely day sharing memories with my neighbour Ruth.

Ruth was a beacon of positivity. She was invested in her community, her conversations, and the wellbeing of people around her. I will sincerely miss her.

Hello to the family and friends of Ruth. My condolences on the loss of this dynamic person.
Although I didn't know her I admire and appreciate her commitment to social justice and the status of women.
Thank you for sharing her life & obituary, and for the privilege of learning about this trail blazer. Sincerely,

We enjoyed many dinner parties and get-togethers with Ruth and both Dick M. and later, Dick H. at the home of mutual friends, Ruth & Don South. Ruth Miller was a lively fellow guest, fun to discuss Eugene life and events with, and we always liked to hear about the travels she and Dick H. made in later years. Dick H. was also our travel agent for a long while and whenever we ventured out of the states, we relied on his assistance until he retired. Fond memories . . .

I so admired Ruth. She was my role model, showing me how to navigate the years after one turns 70 with grace, humor, pragmatism and joy. She was smart, warm, engaged and so elegant. I spent many happy hours with her talking politics and local affairs over a bottle of wine. I will miss her friendship very much. My thoughts go out to her daughters, whom she adored, and all of her large, much loved family. What a woman she was.

What a remarkable woman!! I worked with Dick Hayward at the travel agency and adorned him. I luckily got to know Ruth through Dick and went out for wine many times and coffee. I enjoyed them both so much. I moved to Portland but Ruth kept in touch after Dick passed away, with her Christmas cards. She also called about 2 years ago to catch up. Such a nice person. I’m so sorry for the families loss. I thought for sure she would live forever.

Ruth was a quintessential Eugenean -- involved in everything, warm and friendly, someone we're glad to have known over the years. Hers was truly a life well-lived.

Ruth...a caring mother-in-law, a lifelong learner and a valued source of wisdom who tirelessly championed equality.
