Even though Ruth had such a large family herself she was always so interested in us and our lives when we would see her throughout the years. We will miss her dearly.

Ruth was amazing. I enjoyed seeing her at exercise class, and was surprised more than once when she came to see the Florissant Valley Symphony concerts, and I would see her at the reception afterwards. A truly lovely lady.

I can still remember the excitement as we packed and loaded our car for the long trip from Dallas to St. Louis to visit Aunt Ruth and Uncle Ken, Aunt Mil and Uncle Fritz and all our cousins and extended family! We couldn't wait to get there. And in the early years, we were extra special because Texas cars had air conditioning but St. Louis cars didn't. I remember mostly how sweet Aunt Ruth was (and how tolerant) as we took more and more slices of bread from her kitchen to “cook” with Debbie and Carol in the cool play kitchen in the basement. I also remember spending one Fourth of July in St. Louis - such a fun time with our cousins and a bunch of fireworks!! And we always returned to Dallas talking a little bit like our cousins, though that St. Louis accent didn't last long once we got back to Texas.

Aunt Ruth was a sweet, sweet lady. I was very sorry to hear of her passing, but I know that my Dad was waiting to give her a big hug – what a joyful reunion they must have had! All of you - Debbie, Carol, Ron and Kenny and families - are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Linda Niermann Sandhoff
