Ruth E. Rieman, 99, passed way on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Calvin Community in Des Moines. Ruth was born on April 17, 1914 on Hillside Street in Des Moines, the daughter of Harry and Mabel (Rushing) Yoder. She was raised in Des Moines and graduated from East High. She was united in Marriage to Paul Rieman and he preceded her in death in 1974 after 37 years of marriage. Ruth was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters in law: Frank and Dorothy Rieman and Burt and Pauline Nolin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Merle Hay Funeral Home Chapel at 4400 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines, and a funeral ceremony will begin immediately following at 7 p.m. Entombment will be in the Chapel Hill Mausoleum.

Ruth is survived by a son, Gary of Davie, FL, a sister, Helen Thompson of CA, nieces and nephews, Paul (Judy) Rieman, Pam (Mike) Donahue, Robert Nolin, Jean Bueschler and many other nieces and nephews. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or a charity of your choice.
