My condolences to David Shoemaker on the death of his mother. My family moved to Longmeadow on June 30, 1961. Our next-door neighbors were the Lanctots. David lived about a mile away. I don't recall if I met David that summer or when school (Blueberry Hill School) began in September 1961 but I recall seeing him and Suzanne Lanctot in the Lanctots' back yard. I did not realize that his mother and Shirley Lanctot were best friends.

Ruth sure did live a full life! She was amazing at 102 years old. I always enjoyed seeing her for her haircuts. You will be missed .Rip Ruth..
