Ruth Siegel

Kip Siegel hired my dad out of the University of Illinois in 1954 when Kip headed the Radiation Laboratory (Rad Lab) at the University of Michigan. Ruth and my mom became friends. I remember her visiting with Leigh when he was maybe three at Saline Valley Farms where we lived. We walked down by the lake and Leigh being a little guy then got tired so Ruth carried him. We had a mama cat who had kittens about eight weeks ago so Ruth let Leigh pick out a kitten to take home. I had not...

I was one of Kip Siegel's secretaries at the U of M, Conductron and KMS. I got to know the family quite well. Ruth was a kind and patient woman, devoted to her family. She was also civic minded and interested in making the world a better place for all. She will be missed by many.

Ruth was such a sweet lady - always smiling- very personable! She loved music & people. We will miss her!
