Ruth Mae Simard
Concord, NH - Ruth Mae Simard (née Field), born on July 31, 1944, passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2024. She leaves behind her partner, Paul Laliberte; her four children; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Ruth was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be missed tremendously. She faced her battle with unwavering grace and determination until the Lord called her home. She is now at peace, reunited with her beloved husband, Paul M. Simard Sr., with whom she shared 34 wonderful years.
Ruth had an unforgettable zest for life and a special way with animals, who seemed to fall in love with her instantly, no matter the species. Horses held a particular place in her heart, and she could often be found stopping by a pasture or visiting a rescue sanctuary to be near them. Known for her strong spirit and willingness to speak her mind, Ruth's tough exterior was matched only by her boundless love and compassion.
She grew up in humble beginnings, yet through resilience and determination, she rose above her circumstances and earned a college degree in accounting, building a successful life and legacy.
Ruth spent most of her life in Concord and Hooksett, New Hampshire, before moving to Ocala, Florida, where she lived for 14 years. A few years ago, she returned to her hometown of Concord, New Hampshire, where she resided until her passing.
A service to honor Ruth's life will be held on Monday, November 25, at 12:00 PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire, where she will be laid to rest beside her cherished husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery Association at nhvca.org
Condolences from Ruth´s younger sister Yvonne, nephew´s Everett and Shane´s family´s and great niece and 2 great nephew´s.

Ruth was a lady of quiet dignity, of charm and grace, an easy smile and a sweet sweet soul. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones and by those who were lucky enough to have known her (and to have gone to school with her as I did.) Thank you Paul for being there for her and surrounding her with the love and support she so richly deserved. Hugs to all of you. Denise(McKoan)Clattenburg
