Dear Ruth
It was with great sadness I learned of your demise. As you know, your late husband Al met my father, George Nicholson (then an officer in the British Army) in Catania, Italy during WW2. There started a lifelong friendship for them up until my fathers death and also between you and my mother, Betty, which continued right up to her passing away nearly 4 years ago. You called each other sisters and I know how much she valued your friendship. It was a matter of frustration to you...

Wagner Family,

Ruth was a valued volunteer with the Beaverton Police Department for many years. I will always remember her quiet spirit and work ethic. She was the true definition of a lady.

It is with a melancholy heart that I see Ruth's name in this morning"s paper. I am thankful for her many years of life, but sad that I haven't been in touch with her these last 3 or 4 years, although I have thought of her warmly several times.
