Not sure what to say?

Dee, I still smile every time I think of your dear mother. I have loaned my collection of her books to my 14-year-old great niece, who is an avid reader. I will always remember her as being open to adventure and new experiences. She, Julie, and I had a particularly adventurous trip to NYC one Thanksgiving when we were still teaching at Mt. Pleasant Middle. In my VW bug, we drove into a major snowstorm between DC and NYC. A tractor trailer truck jackknifed in the highway about 50 feet...

I really love your book Belle Prater´s Boy

Dee, I think of you often and hope all is well with you and your little family. I will always miss your mom. She was such a talented and caring/loving soul, and she loved you and Pate to smithereens.

I still think of my dear friend, Ruth very often. She truly left a legacy to be proud of.

Dee, although your mother and I never met, we have exchanged emails over the last fifteen years when I began teaching her book Belle Prater's Boy to my sixth graders. I knew something was amiss when I wrote Ruth a few weeks ago and hadn't heard back. I was terribly sad to read of her transition. I have tried without success to locate your address to contact you. Please know my heart was broken to hear this news.

Dee, Again, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom and our friend, Ruth. Be blessed to know that you and Pate were the love of her life. Sincerely, Vickie Clevinger Corby.

Dee, Julie and I will always remember Ruth as having a huge heart and a keen mind. She was a dear friend, and the world will be less without her in it (until her soul returns).

Dee, remembering your precious Mom and the enjoyable times at Shank park with Dory & Abe
Feeling sad and sorry that I didn't get back to visit with her. Love, Joan
