Mrs. Ruthella Celestine Thomas, 89, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial Celebration Service for Mrs. Thomas will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Saint Martin DePorres Catholic Church, located at 7467 Boyt Road in Beaumont, Texas. A public viewing for Mrs. Thomas, will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. and visitation Friday, March 8, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Rosary to be recited on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Martin DePorres Catholic Church. Burial service will be held at Live Oak Memorial Park and Cemetery in Nederland, Texas, under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. For your safety, Social Distancing and Facial Masks are recommended.
The Footprints of Ruthella
Ruthella Celestine Thomas was born on September 10, 1934 to the late Lee, Sr., and Amy Fontenot Celestine in Chataignier, Louisiana.
She accepted Christ as his Lord, and saviour and was a member of Saint Martin DePorres Catholic Church until her untimely passing. She was a member of TGA Legion on Mary and served as a Lay Minister, until her health failed.
In the early 1950’s, Ruthella, married S.T. Thomas, and to this union their were blessed with six amazing children, Curtis, Cynthia Ann, Ella Ruth, Eldred John, Andrea and Steve.
Ruthella was a very loving person, her ability to do anything in Christ Jesus, who gave her the strength to do so she had a keen sense of humor and strong leadership skills, as being a wonderful and gifted Seamstress her work spoke her gift. She was employed with Hamshire-Fannett Independent School District with over twenty years of service as an Custodian.
Ruthella was preceded in death by his parents; her siblings, Ella Mae Dicks Leroy Celestine and Lee Celestine, Jr.; Ruthella departed her earthly life and entered into her eternal life on Friday, March 1, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas.
Ruthella’s love and memories were forever remain in the hearts of her loving and devoted children, Cynthia Ann Batiste, Ella Ruth Thomas, Andrea Butler, Curtis Thomas (Roweanna), Eldred John Thomas (Alfreda) and Steven Thomas; siblings, Rosalie Wiley, Jean Ella Guillory, Leandris Celestine, Carolyn, Floyd and Lloyd Johnson and Eva Coute; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
