Ryan C. McDaniel, 35, of Genoa, Ohio, died early Monday morning, August 15, 2011, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Ryan was born April 26, 1976, in Toledo, Ohio, to William C. and Carol (Hagarty) McDaniel. He was a graduate of Genoa Area Local High School and received his Master's Degree in Business Management from Tiffin University. He worked as an appraiser for Professional Appraisal Service in Bowling Green, Ohio. Ryan loved all sports, especially baseball and softball. He played baseball while attending Tiffin University and later was the team's pitching coach. He was also the pitching coach at Genoa High School. His many interests included deer hunting, riding his motorcycle, camping, bowling and hanging out with his best friend, Gregg Prenzlin. Ryan is survived by his parents, Carol McDaniel and William C. and Maria McDaniel, brother, Eric (Staci) McDaniel, sister, Amanda (Star) Milburn, step brother, Jonathan (Alex) Lanning, step sister, Jessica Lanning, niece, Kiana Milburn, nephew, Johnny Ryan Milburn, grandmother, Mary Hagarty; his aunts, Lisa Hagarty, Sharalyn VanSteenkiste, uncles, Brian Hagarty, Ral McDaniel, Nevin (Deb) McDaniel and many cousins. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Rima Deal and her son, Logan Deal. Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis Newland McDaniel, Janice (Brown) McDaniel and Harold "Poppo" Hagarty and aunt, Beth Hagarty, and uncle, Ray VanSteenkiste. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Main Street Church in Moline, Ohio, with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorials for Ryan may be given to the Genoa Athletic Boosters.

I knew Ryan for a very short time through the Tiffin University Baseball Program. Ryan was an incredible person who helped so many both on and off the playing field. He will be missed by all that came in contact with him including the Tiffin University Family. My condolences go out to his friends and family. God Bless all of you in this difficult time.

I enjoyed getting to know Ryan as he gave me a hard time when I was his nurse! He was a fun guy and my heart hurts for his family, you are all in my prayers. God Bless!
