Sal Garces

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend, Sal R. Garces, age 25, of Las Cruces on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. He was born Oct. 12, 1988 in El Paso, Texas. Those left to mourn his passing include a son, Sal Angel Garces: a daughter Elianna Jenesis Garces; his mother, Cynthia Garces; stepfather, George Manzanares, Jr.; a brother, Raymond Garces; two sisters, Latycia and Dasity Garces; an uncle, Arturo Garces (Maria); four aunts, Sarah Garces (Bert Diaz), Christie and Fay Garces and Tonie Faulkner (Kenneth); four cousins, Isaac Garces, Ruben Trujillo, Leonard and Mario Calvillo and his friend Jamelle Lowe. Sal was preceded in death by his grandfather, Juan Garces on Sept. 3, 2012, three aunts, Maria "Cuca" Gonzalez on Oct. 23, 2013, Socorro Montelongo and Lupe Quesada; two uncles, Angel and Tony Garces. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer 300 E. Boutz Road with Bishop Mark Dominguez officiating. At Sal's request cremation will take place and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.
