Read MoreMy father really treasured his mostly long-distance friendship with Sal. They met in the mid-60s in Monterey and saw each other occasionally in the 70s and 80s. Anyhow, I remember Sal and Mary, plus Rick and Mark, as a little boy. Sal's 'adopted' son, Kent Hafeman, lived in my home in W Germany for a few months, so we shared that connection too. You are missed!

So sorry to hear of Sal's passing. He and Mary were life-long, loving friends to my parents. They both touched so many lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My parents knew Sal and Mary. Sal was the sweetest man. He really lived the life of God . I am sure he was received in the arms of Jesus with the biggest hug ever. My condolences to his family y, he will be missed.
