Not sure what to say?

Shortly after attending the memorial service for a prominent Political Science professor here in Toronto earlier today I was saddened to learn of the relatively recent passing of Dr. Saleem Qureshi whom I was fortunate to have as a professor at the University of Alberta quite some years ago. Dr. Qureshi's erudition, insight, eloquence and dedication helped to make the complexities of the Middle East a lot more understandable. Victor C. Ernst, Toronto, March 3, 2018.

I was sorry to stumble onto this site today and see that my one of my favourite professors is no longer with us. I took only one or two classes with him back in my undergrad in and around 2004, but he stood out immediately for his razor sharp logic, wit, and warmth. He became a friend and mentor. He taught me a great deal, influenced me in many ways, and will always be special to me. Thank you, and may your soul rest in eternal peace.

My heart goes out to your family.
Professor Qureshi: A fine person, gifted teacher, a man full of compassion, wit and kindness. You enriched my life. I mourn your loss. An honor to have known you.

Remember being in Sitli? Good times at Grotzebuhl!

Dear Abba, I miss you so much! I had no idea it would be like this, with you gone. I miss your voice, your jokes, your kindness and warmth. I think of you often. I hope you are well, wherever you are now. I love you.

Flowers of Hapiness and Peace.

I send you much Love Mr.Qureshi.
Take care Up there!
Peace and Love from me.

Dear Regula and family,
Ann and I are thinking of you today as you say farewell to Saleem. We remember particularly fondly the trip to your chalet in Alberta and companionable week-end with you both. Thinking of you with sympathy and we send our love. Bonnie

Dear Abba,
You will be missed. Your wisdom, your sense of humour and your loving care will always stay with me and my sons, your grandchildren, Pau and Sharif.
I wish I could be there to pay my last respects. Rest in peace.

Dear Regula,

We were indeed sorry to learn of the death of Humayun. He accomplished a great deal in his life and he always helped and remembered others and those less fortunate. We know that you and the children and grandchildren have a hole in your lives now and we pray that the happy memories of Humayun's life give you peace of mind.

Best wishes from Ranjan and Gretchen

Dear Regula, Our deepest sympathy and respect from my family to yours. I was very briefly a student but profoundly affected by everything Saleem had to say and would listen with great interest when I heard him on the news. I think whatever political awareness I have in the world started in his class. I will miss the quips and conversations. Our loss is the gain of the immortal souls. He's in very good company! May his soul rest in peace. You are daily in my thoughts that words just can't...
