Vernon, Robert, Ross, and Sarah, We have just found out about Sallie's passing, and we want to express both our sadness and condolences to all of you. She was a special person, and we consider ourselves fortunate for having known her. What a terrible loss this is for you, for her generations of grandchildren, and for the friends and others who were impacted by her life. You are certainly in our thoughts.

Sallie was my next door neighbor for several years when I moved to Point Clear. She welcomed me to the neighborhood and we remained good friends for over 20 years. She will be sorely missed by me and the other neighbors in "The Hood." My condolences to her family and sweet Vernon for your loss.

Sallie was a kind, cheerful, giving person and the perfect partner for Vernon when he started Balmoral Presbyterian Church in the 1960s. She was much loved. The entire congregation mourned when they moved away.
