I met Sally in ACT UP many years ago and had the pleasure of risking arrest with her to help change how people lived and died with HIV/AIDS. I loved her for her humor, her anger, her patience, and impatience, her effectiveness at making complex ideas more clear and simpler. Her leadership and her pleasure at being in the world will be missed.

I read Sals Obit on Facebook and it dawned on me that it seems like technology has advanced since I last saw her its been so long, and I am mad at myself that I didnt get to simply thank her for her openess, her mentiorship to me in he days of running inaccessible and complentary medicine, egg lecithins,, bathtub ddC-a new antiviral we had a chemist make and scale up to meet demands. I had the inestimable privilege of knowing Sal best these last years as she and Beck together sought to find a treatment effective against the cancer that threatened Sal's life. That effort failed, but the living together they accomplished was a wonder to behold, a tremendous affirmation of life and love that included embracing their friends whole-heartedly. I count myself fortunate beyond words to have been among that number, each one of us held in Sal's life-affirming and loving regard.

I had the opportunity of meeting Sally through work. She was our FEARLESS LEADER for a number of years in the Brooklyn Office of the American Cancer Society. I've learned so much from her over the years. She was a very passionate, caring, dedicated & understanding person. May she rest peacefully.

Such a wonderful soul. So many wonderful memories from working with Sally at the American Cancer Society. Even though I have not worked with Sally for several years I kept in touch because she was such a unique and special person. She might have taken her last breath but her light will always be with us. Thanks for the memories Sal.
