Sally Slater Gabb

My sister, my heart. My life forever changed because of her presence. I carry her with me every day.

I had the ultimate privilege of having Sally as a professor at Bristol Community College in the Fall of 2013 and I am in complete tears writing this after just finding out about her passing. From the first day of class I noticed there was something so special about her kind-hearted and gentle spirit. I have never had a professor like her and don't think I ever will. I regret that I have only just learned of Sally's passing. I sit here tears in my eyes - Sally is one of the greatest, kindest, most peaceful and socially just woman I have ever known. Her impact on my life was enormous. I am proud that we were once close, once friends, and that she had the great kindness to be a mentor to me when young. Time passes and yet stands still since Sal moved on in her journey. Sal was my mentor, my childhood playmate, a partner in puppets and story, a skilled listener and a non-judgmental compassionate friend. She pushed when I needed that extra nudge yet stepped back to let me make my own decisions. I was so blessed to call her sister.

Sally, you will always be remembered and have a place in my heart. What a loss for all of us. All my condolences and sympathy to Beth and family.

Dear Beth~

I was so sorry to read of Sally's passing, and then amazed at the incredible life of action for others she lead.. I pray your memories of your life with Sally will comfort you always. Take care of yourself.

Sally always had the best stories and advice. She always took the time to listen without judgment. Beth and Sally had a love for each other that I strive to mimic. Two of the most beautiful people that I'm very lucky to know. Sally you will be missed, but I know you're up there talking someone's ear off.
