My parents great friends! My complete respect of great people! Sally was such a nice person. She married a very nice man. Peace and love to your family.

My parents were close with sally and Burt. She was so sweet and kind to me. I´ll always remember the good she represented! She led a great life!

"Sally literally helped school our family at First United Methodist Church Coop Nursery School," is a familiar refrain throughout households in Ann Arbor. She accomplished encouraging the dads to be involved! Among her many accolades, Sally was installed in the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Hall of Honor during her active membership. So caring, so positive with a God blessed smile. That's Sally. Hebrews 11:1.

I also taught cooperative preschool and Sally came to Ypsilant Children´s to observe our school day activities and classroom arrangement before she began her job. So, I became aware of her love of teaching early on. We attended MANY teacher meetings to share ideas at the different cooperative preschools in the area. I had the pleasure of having one of her granddaughters as a student also. Her beautiful smile was SO special. She will be forever remembered in the hearts of so many. Mary...

Sally and Burt lived across from us on Hazelwood in Ann Arbor. She convinced me to enter my 4 year old son, Hugh, in FUMCN, then my daughter Paula. She was a guide for mothers and children, and a great model for what parenting was about, and how fun it was to be involved with young children. She concentrated on the good things, and inspired many co-op nursery moms and dads to stay involved in education and community service. A new little star in the sky must be Sally, keeping a loving eye...

Not even Mr. Rogers had a greater impact on me as a child as Mrs. Sally Lamkin. Our beloved Nursery School teacher, Hazelwood Street neighbor and fine citizen, she always made me feel special and important. I'm sure her influence on me created the teacher that I am today. Until I read this glorious obituary, I had no idea how big she was, for in her presence I was convinced that I was the most important person in the world. What a gift!

We both knew Sally and Burt at Albion College, and were delighted to be able to continue our friendship in Ann Arbor. They were both outstanding people and educators and great friends. They will be missed.

When I attended Community High School (class of `75) Sally became my teacher and mentor. I helped her several days a week -in the UMC pre-school - learning about how to interact and teach children, and I received school credit for this. I later became a teacher, and taught for close to 30 years, before retiring. Sally always had time for you - to ask questions, or ask advice. I know she had a large impact on my life, and my choice of becoming a teacher. She will be missed by many!
