Sally retired as a teacher from Clarkston Schools. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Memorial service Saturday 3:00 p.m. at the Lewis E. Sally was such an excellent dedicated teacher. I knew that any child that I placed in her classroom was going to learn not only the academics, but about life and living. Her spirited wonderful personality will be greatly missed by all. I wish to extend my sympathy to her family.

It is very rare to have a teacher, particularly an elementary school teacher, who touched so many lives in such a positive way. Everyone who knew Sally was better for it. My husband (who had Sally as a teacher in the 60s) and I (who had her during the 70s) are deeply saddened by her passing, and all our sympathy goes out to her family for their great loss. Look to yourselves - she will always be there.

My best teacher ever - 5th grade in the early 70's at Andersonville. She encouraged and praised often and discovered talents in her students that may have slipped by undeveloped without her notice. There is just nothing like having a teacher tell you you're good at something to make you want to continue doing it, and know that you can.
I remember feeling in that classroom like I was an individual amongst individuals rather than a mass of students who happened to be in the same room...

Miss Lindeman was my greatest mentor. She taught me to know that I could learn anything, and that I really was smart. I can barely remember a day that I have not thought of her. I am blessed.

Sally touched the lives and hearts of hundreds of Clarkston students. For those of us at Andersonville who learned penmanship, past participles and our times tables from Sally in the 60s, and for those who Sally taught in the 70s, 80s and early 90s, she remains one of our favorite teachers. Moreover, she was always a joy to talk with as we grew into adults. Our prayers are with Sally's entire family.
