Not sure what to say?

I have just learned of Sally´s passing through Tim Stover at the United Methodist Church in Corvallis. My parents, Patty and Tom McClintock (who passed away 8 and 10 years ago respectively) were close to Sally through her music at the church, and I have always seen Sally´s warm and sunny smile/spirit through the years. Sally wrote a hymn in honor of my sister, Megan, when she passed away 25 years ago from cancer. Our family was so touched and grateful. Sally gave so much to so so many people...

Loved Sally, a one of a kind teacher and friend. I will miss her so much, especially those funny ever-late birthday cards. She was special to me and my twin, Judy, for over 60 years.

What an amazing lady. I had Miss McBride as a teacher at Adams Elementary School in Corvallis in the early 1980s. She exuded music and had a knack for including even the least musically inclined kids in class. I was honored to be part of the GATORS (gifted and talented on recorders) band where we played at various venues, including the Corvallis Country Club and U of O. She was a one of a kind gem and inspiration.

We met Sally when we moved to Corvallis in 1982. We were neighbors and so enjoyed meeting Sally and her dog, Katie. As we were renting at the time, we soon moved elsewhere but would bump into Sally in the community. We never forgot her friendliness and our conversations about teaching, the importance of music education and our shared commitment to working with children. A beautiful person. Barb and Lance Popoff

Sally was one inspirational teacher!!!! Always gave above and beyond to her students. I met her when she came to teach at Alsea High School. She made the best musical sounds from such a small pool of students from which to draw. I felt she was the best teacher and person I have ever met. When I would meet up with her in Corvallis, she was still the same energetic person I always admired. A true mentor to many.

I had "Miss McBride" as my first grade music teacher in Alsea, Oregon in the '60s. Some 20 years later, my children had her for their music teacher in Corvallis, Oregon; at Christmas one year I felt honored to be the piano accompanist for the Christmas program. She was an amazing, gifted individual and I have often thought of her fondly over these many years.

We were all fortunate to have Sally in our community. She will be greatly missed by music lovers.
