Died January 6, 2006

TRAVERSE CITY - Sally Lynn Towner, known to many as "Jidge," passed away quietly in her sleep on Friday morning, Jan. 6, 2006.

She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Grimes, his wife, Mary Lou, and their children, Gregg, Kristine and Korey; and her four daughters, Nicki Towner, Tracey Towner, Noelle Towner and Kelly Towner. She is also survived by the three grandchildren she held so dear, Erin Fouch, Javed Fouch and Delaney Leach.

Sally enjoyed working at Windows for many years and maintained an independence that was important to her.

An avid reader, movie critic, and self-proclaimed political addict, she was current on all the relevant news of the day. Sally was a very unique personality and those who knew her will miss her wit, intelligence and individuality.

Sally's wishes were that there be no funeral or memorial service. Her family will honor her life in a private celebration.

She was very appreciative of the care and generosity of those at Hospice House and asked that any donations in her memory be made to them.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edwards-Oak Grove Funeral Home in Bear Lake.

This obituary was originally published in the Record-Eagle.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Tracey, Nicki, Noelle, and Kelly,
Your mom was a special person and her life touched so many people. It is moving to read all the words of love and remembrance for her. The closeness of your family, and the support you give to each other through happiness and adversity is a beautiful legacy from your mom and your dad.
You are in our hearts and prayers. Love, Maureen and Bruce

Dear Nicki, Tracey, Noelle and Kelly,
We both would like to express our joy that we had the opportunity to share a little part of your life.
We shared your four lovely daughters since the third or fourth grade and have fond memories of those times.
I enjoyed our time working together at Windows and always seemed to connect with you in one way or the other over time. Just thinking about you puts a smile on our faces--you were a kind and generous person.
We both hope...

My husband and I have worked with Sally for over ten years at Windows Restaurant. She was always there for our us, she attended our wedding and was very giving towards our son. We are thankfull to have shared in her life for so long, we will forever miss Sally. We are so sorry for your loss.

Noelle, Nicki, Tracy, and Kelly,
We were so sorry to hear about your mother. She must have been an independent, smart, caring, and strong woman as you all are. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you and your families as you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Ms. Nicki Towner and family,
I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I know she will be safe and happy in heaven.

Dearest Nicki, Tracey, Noelle and Kelly, I am so sad to hear about Jidge's passing. I have very fond memories of Jidge and Grandma Toni, espcially of Jidge's very unique laugh and sense of humor that would entertain us all around the bridge table. Best wishes to you all, Amy

Dear Noelle and Tracey... and sisters too;
So sorry to hear about your mothers death. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Fondly,

Tracey,

At this moment I think of an essay on mothers and want to quote some of it for you.

"Your Mother is always with you. She's the smell of certain foods you remember, and the perfume that she wore, she's the cool hand on your brow when you did not feel well. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. She's the place you came from, your first home. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can seperate you. Not time, not...

Tracey and Nicki, We are both sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your sisters. Hoping you have precious memories that will bring you contentment now and always.
