He was one of my Little League coaches, he and Leo. I loved baseball more than any other sport, but except for the fact that I couldn't hit, run or field, I would have been OK. Sal and his brother were kind to me as a player on their Rotary Red Sox team. I got to play a little, so I found out then and remember today the feeling of stepping into the batter's box or try to catch a fly ball in the outfield. I felt they gave me the best shot they could and I was and will always be grateful for...

My condolences to the Pacheco family. I worked with Sal and his son at the Sam´s Club in Calexico prior to its closure. Sal was always in good spirits and willing to lend a helping hand. May he rest in peace.
