I am certain I can speak for all of my siblings when I thank Sam for his kindness, especially to our mother. She could not manage to parallel park when shopping downtown. However, that was never a problem because she just kept driving around the square until she spotted Sam and he would park the car for her! Such a wonderful man and wonderful memories.

Sam was one of the best cops Hinghamever had. He would administer the law in such a way that no criminal, no matter who, would take offense. He served honerable for the town of Hingham and was a great example of how to be a police officer. Sam will be missed by all who knew him.

I remember Sammy giving my sisters and I a ride home from school in the cruiser and even turned the lights and siren on in the driveway. Scared our mom out of her wits! We all had a good laugh. Sammy made Hingham feel like "Mayberry."
