Not sure what to say?

My Great Grandmother Eleanor Johnson Hill Ball was Sam´s teacher. She always encouraged him with his art & she later donated pieces he gifted her as a student to the Precious Moments Museum (which I one day hope to travel to and get to see). Sam stayed in touch with Eleanor. She supported Sam´s Precious Moments venture, buying as many of the figurines as she could, was a member of the Collectors Club. He came and visited her & apparently signed quite a few of her pieces. As a kid I loved...

My deepest sympathy to the Butcher. I had the honor to meet Sam a few times when I was visiting the Chapel in Carthage. Sam was truly an amazing person. So talented and loved by many. I have over 200 figurines in my collection. Some were signed by Sam at the Chapel when he was there in person. I just learned of his passing today. Rest in peace Mr. Butcher. You will not be forgotten

I have a small collection of Precious Moments figurines. His work is amazing. Just learned of his passing. May he rest in peace.

We meet at CEF in Grand Rapids in 1972. I was janitor and you were artist and we liked each other's work. You and Bill Beal were just starting you own business. Wow look at you know, God has blessed us both so well. Our prayers has gave us both a running edge on this life. Thank you for you dear friendship and brother hood. Soar high.job well done. God bless.

Sending much love to Jon, Tammy, and the Butcher family. All my love.

I never knew Sam but i knew his precious moments work. My mom and grandma loved precious moments and i never got the chance to experience the chapel with them. my grandma passed in 2018 and my mama just passed earlier this year. i got to go for the first time right before she passed and it gave me hope that when she passed everything would still be okay. I still preach about the chapel to everyone whos never been and i will be taking my own kids one day. when i go i will always remember the...

I don´t know if you ever spoke about me but I was the little dark haired girl always there at the precious moments chapel in poofy dresses made with precious moments fabric. You stopped to talk to me anytime you saw me and I have several pictures of us. I was your biggest fan. Rest easy Sam. I love you, Rachel

I have met Sam several times and he has been the nicest person I think I have ever met the chapel gives me the feeling of comfort love and welcomeness Sam we will miss you and I want to thank you again for the doll that you have made me years ago rest in peace

I met Sam for the first time at the chapel. I asked if I could meet him, but he was having lunch and I wouldn´t disturb him So we went to visit the chapel. We went back to the dining room as Sam was leaving and I asked if he could sign some of my figurines and he said he had to be somewhere else but would come back. I was crazy with anticipation about meeting him, but I worried that he wouldn´t see us all the way in the back... Or that he wouldn´t come back. Well, he did but he couldn´t see...
