I have very fond memories of this dear friend who was so gracious to my husband and me through the years. We had special times with him, Gary and Daniel and he shall be greatly missed.

I met Sam once, when he was visiting his cousin Bill LoConte in Modesto Ca. I had just returned from visiting my cousin, Nancy, in Denver, and received a call from my cousin, Pat DePalma, that Sam Giglio wanted to meet the children of Paul Bavaro, his childhood friend. I went over to Bill's and chatted with this absolutely fascinating man, who not only told me about growing up with my father in Bitritto, but, after hearing about my trip to Colorado, asked me about my trip. I shared the many places I visited and when he heard my cousin and I climbed the hill to the Shrine of Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden Colorado, his eyes lit up. He told me that his wife was one of the children in the miracle that led to the shrine. Then he told me about his wife, the years they shared and how she left this world too early, how he ended up in Colorado, etc. It was a delightful visit that left a lasting impression of a wonderful man. My condolences to his family.

Dad would always send me to Mapleton Market for the best Italian sausage and cheese. Sam was a family treasure; valued for his great spirit and faithfulness. He's with his beloved Martha now. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his sons and their children and grandchildren.

Such wonderful memories of Sam throughout my life. He was such a blessing to me and my parents and will be greatly missed, but will live on in my heart forever. May God's blessings be evident in this time of sorrow for all.

My childhood memories contain Sam Giglio's Mapleton Market. The Villano family bought their groceries at "Sams". He made the best Italian sausage around. Always friendly and helpful. My condolences to his family. He was a really nice man.
