Not sure what to say?

Dear Karen and family;
Although I have not seen Sammy in 35 years, I was crushed for you and your two lovely daughters when my brother called to tell me the news. I am glad to know he found a wonderful caring partner that loved him until his untimely death. It sounds like you had a terrific marriage and a meaninful life with one another.

Our entire family has you all in our prayers. God Bless you and your beautiful daughters.

Dear Maggio Family,
You do not know us, but our families crossed paths on a very unfortunate day. My husband was the man who swam out to Sam and brought him to shore. We just want to let you and your family know that we have thought of Sam and your family every day since and we always will. I am so sorry for your loss. It Sounds like your Sam was just like my husband, from what I read. I've learned that no matter what, your husband was always willing to help others without question. A...

Laura and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Though I did not have the pleasure of knowing your father I know that he was a wonderful father to you and your sister. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Trust in the Lord and he will see you through these difficult times.

Mrs. Karen, Laura, Danielle, JJ, I know how hard of a time this is for you all right now. Your dad, and husband was an amazing man, with an amazing heart. Keep remembering the good times, and great memories. Like his smile, and laugh that could be seen or heard from across the room!! Sammy Man touched my life, like he did many others, and I am blessed to have known him. If you need anything at all, I'm a phone call away!
Love,
Brittany Schexnaildre

The Maggio Family,
Words cannot express how shocked and sadden I was to hear of Sammy's tragic death. Sammy was an incredible person and I am very grateful to have known him. Cherish your memories of him in this very difficult time. He will be watching over your family from above.

To all of the Maggio families, God bless you. He blessed us with Sammy's presence in Life. Sammy, like his father, mother and brother, was a giver. He was gracious and generous. It did not surprise me that he would risk his life to save another.

When I saw the news that two people lost their lives to the rip currents in Florida, that did not surprise me. But, when I saw the name Sammie Maggio from Metairie in the Mobile Press Register the next day, I had to call Frankie to find out if...

Sammy was The Man. He will be very sadly missed. Go Tigers.

We coached Danielle's 9-10 all-star bounceball team with Sammy at Cleary Playground many years ago. Both Danielle and Sammy were a pleasure to work with that year. Sammy was an amazing father, coach, and mentor, and will be greatly missed. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family in their time of sorrow. God Bless You Sammy!

Karen, My thoughts and prayers are with Sammy and you and your family. Even though it has been many years since we have seen each other, Sammy was a good friend and we shared many happy memories from long ago in the days at LSU. We will remember Sammy with love and happpiness. Sincerely, Marc
