A year ago we were all together at Sam´s house celebrating the Fourth of July and watching the fireworks from his balcony. Sam brought so many incredible people together, and everyone adored him. Worked a lot with Sam and his team at NOSC many moons ago. He was one of the most intelligent and kind person around. His legacy is unsurpassed in marine mammal studies. Few people rise to his level of greatness. RIP, dear Sam.
