Not sure what to say?

Sam, you are truly missed, and thought of often. I will always have great memories of the times we shared at our Wednesday morning Italian group breakfasts.

I have wanted to speak with Caroline ever since I heard of Sam's passing but somehow the telephone numbers I have for the Scopacasa's don't seem to be connected. I have been living in Seattle ever since I left Franklin Street in Portland. As I wrote, Sam and Caroline were dear neighbors and I would like to call Caroline or visit her when I visit Portland. i did not find out until yesterday that Dear Sweet Sam passed. My deepest heartfelt sympathy to you all. I have been in and out of town the pass four weeks and I do not use my home phone so I did not get the message. Yesterday a friend asked me if I had attended his services. I was so very sad. Sam and Carolyn stuck by my sister and I when my parents both were passing. His generous spirit watched over my mom and gave her much joy. Please contact me, Carolyn, I do not know where you are...

To the greatest grandfather, a kid could ever want. Thanks for nearly 45 1/2 years of love and support. You were always there whenever I needed you no matter what it cost to you personally. When I would beat you out of a pot at poker and you'd get upset I used to joke with you about you giving me my inheritance now instead of later & you'd reply that that was all I was going to get. But the truth is grumps, you left me an inheritance much larger than any poker pot could be. One that will last...

All of us in the Barbur family are so sorry to hear of the passing of Sam Scopacasa. He was our neighbor for more than 50 years. Our folks laughed and shared garden's produce and Italian Christmas treats with each other. As the family babysitter, I remember Caroline and Sam looked so lovely and handsome dressed up for Saturday night parties. Sam's family and long time marriage showed a wonderful husband and good wife working together with lots of laughs. All our sympathies go out to the...

I remember many great times at Zuber Brothers Construction listening to Sam and Pete when they came to work or just visit my uncle Leonard Zuber. There was always much laughter. Thanks for the memories. He will certainly be with a lot of old friends in heaven.

My fondest memories of Sam and Pete where when they would come to Merchants to do remodeling. I don't think there was a task too daunting for those two and they worked like a hand an glove....I used to refer to them as two of the 3 stooges because they kept us laughing all the time and had great stories to tell us. I take great pride in knowing Sam and take with me the lessons of perserverance, honesty and a hard day's work for honest pay. My deepest sympathy to all of the Scopacasa's

The world has lost an incredible man whom I feel fortunate to have known. Sam was an example to all of what a kind, loving, compassionate person should be. Through the years, I have never forgotten his wonderful smile and laughter. Much love to his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so very sorry! I enjoyed talking to Sam and Carolyn at St. Ignatius. So friendly, so caring, and a great laugh! I will not be able to attend the funeral, but know you will be in my thought sand prayers. My Mom, Pat Campagna, sends her condolences too.
