I am so sorry to hear of Coach Timer's passing. He played a big part in my success at Allegheny College. I remember when he came to my high school to talk to me about playing football at Allegheny College. I was already to talk football and he only talked to me about school. In 1963 Sam was my high school fotball coach at Clark H.S.Not only did he change the direction of the football program at Clark but he and his staff changed the attitudes and beliefs of his players.He instilled a positive "you can do it attitude" and his motivation always seemed to bring out the best in his players.His attitude also carried over off the field. I was a student at Clark High in the early 60's.
we never had a winning season until coach Timer arrived. He commanded attention on and off the field. He was the start of a tree of coaches and winning starting with coach Red Kelen
