Samaan Kandah Obituary

Samaan Musa Kandah

Resident of San Jose

Passed away Samaan Musa Kandah in Modesto, California. He was born in Shatana, Jordan in 1924. He worked as a teacher, a government Lands and Survey Department Director, government court expert, and a real estate business owner.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and a great grandfather. He is survived by his eight children, Amal, Mazin, Basem, Ghassan, Adnan, Ibtesam, Ibtehaj and Hanan, 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his only brother Issa (Abu Husni) in Amman Jordan, and many, many nieces and nephews.

He immigrated to the United States in 1980 with his wife Khazneh, who also joined her Lord on September 8, 2010.

Samaan was one of the original founders of The Kandah Family association in Shatana, Jordan, and was one of the many strong wrists that supported her to stand on her own. Also, he helped establish The Jordanian American Association in San Francisco, California. He was very active in both when he was in good health.

He was an accomplished and proud writer and poet in his native Arabic Language, both in Jordan and here in the U.S, covering a wide range of subjects, from the love for his country, to his Kandah relatives and his immediate family on many many occasions. He was exiled several times for his political views in the sixties.
