BAYNE, Samantha – Of Spokane, Washington, age 25, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Visitation will be held at 12pm Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Sam lived her life the way many people wish they would — looking for adventure, finding beauty in small things, and holding tightly to the people she loved.
She loved road trips, mountains, roadside attractions, LEGO sets spread across the table, coloring books that had to be finished once started, and the entire month of October because it meant Halloween and dressing up as whoever she wanted to be.
She loved Pokémon and collecting things that were special, unique, or just made her happy. She loved rock and rye, spud nachos, Jet’s pizza, and sweet treats. She loved laughing with family and making memories out of ordinary days.
But more than anything in this world, she loved being a mom. Her son Leo was her greatest joy, her proudest role, and the center of her world.
The world is a little quieter, a little less colorful, and a little less adventurous without Sam in it, but her love, her laughter, and her spirit will live on in everyone who knew her — especially in her son.
Preceded in death by her Oma Joyce Irwin, Papa Mike Bayne, Bachi Yoneko Bayne, Uncle Luke Bayne, and Mother Katie Bayne.
Survived by Son Leo Gibbons, Partner Torin Gibbons, Father Gordon Bayne, Sister Adrianna (Codey) James, Nephews Jason, Codey, Keith and Harvey, Aunt Paula Irwin, and Grandpa Mike Green. Special people including The Gibbons Family, The James/Roberts Family, and The Heltons.

Something´s we will never understand and so God has some explaining to do when we all get to heaven! Samantha I didn´t get to know you as an adult but reading and hearing all the beautiful colors you painted in this world while you were here sounds like a beautiful painting of life! So young, so daring, so alive is the legacy you left for your son to know. May you rest easy with your mama and for the family I give my deepest condolences, stay close to the Lord for your comfort in the darkest...

I knew Sam when we were young, she definitely meant a lot to me and my life wouldn´t have been the same if I hadn´t met Sam. I´m thankful to have known her at one point. Wish we would´ve stayed in touch. Rest easy.
