Samantha Jo "Samii Jo" Walters

Samantha Jo Walters was born June 15, 1993 to Curt Walters and Darcy Iske in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and went to be with the Lord suddenly at the tender age of 18 on April 11, 2012. Samantha spent her first 8 years in Tijeras, New Mexico spending time with family and friends as often as possible, amusing every person she encountered. She attended A. Montoya Elementary and loved spending time at Los Vecinos Community Center. She enjoyed participating in Girl Scouts her Kindergarten year, camping at the lake every chance she got, playing outdoors and being an all-around tomboy. She moved to Gretna, Nebraska in June of 2001, and attended Gretna Public Schools until her graduation in May of 2011. In June she moved back to Tijeras and worked at the Manzano Mountain Early Learning Center, taking care of the babies she loved so much. During her short time on this earth she packed in a lifetime of activities, living each day to the fullest. She wanted to try everything at least once, from basketball to scrapbooking. Her favorite shape was a circle and her favorite state was random. She made an impact on everybody that she met. Her beautiful, infectious smile will be imprinted in everyone's memories forever. Samantha is survived by her parents, Curt and Mindy Walters of Tijeras, New Mexico, and Darcy Iske of Gretna, Nebraska; sister Randi Walters of Gretna, Nebraska and brother and sister-in law Matthew and Misty Ideus, and Nephew Oliver Ideus of Pickrell, Nebraska; grandparents, Carl Iske of Gretna, Nebraska, Karleen Walters of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Shelly Walters of Jemez, New Mexico, and Patricia Lewis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; many aunts, uncles, and countless cousins spanning two continents. Family and friends may visit starting at 4:00 p.m., on April 21, 2012, at French ~ Lomas Chapel, a celebration of Samii Jo's life will start at 5:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
