Samantha Olene Starnes, 83 years of age, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Carolinas HealthCare System Main in Charlotte.
Olene was born February 15, 1934 in Monroe, NC, to the late William Oscar Brantley and the late Eva Pearl Brantley. She was also preceded in death by husband, Homer Ray Starnes.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmie Bartley and Rev. Don Lisk. Burial will follow at Howell's Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include daughter, Deborah Cook of Midland; son, Randy Starnes, Sr. of Concord; Jerry (Frances) Starnes of Monroe; brother, Harold (Blake) Brantley of Monroe; brother, Heath Brantley of Monroe; five grandchildren, Stephanie Keziah, Randy Starnes Jr., Jeremy Starnes, Kimberley Starnes, and Philip Starnes, and seven great-grandchildren,.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Starnes family.

Starnes Family: Olene was a very special Lady that showed kindness and love to every person she met. Any time that I saw her anywhere she had a big smile and a hug for me. I am so sorry for your loss, but Heaven gained another Angel. No more pain, just happiness in the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Prayers for comfort and strength in this sorrowful time.
