Not sure what to say?

I am just now seeing this and surprised that I hadn't heard about Sammy's passing through the grapevine. I ran with Sammy on occasion and was very fond of him. I live out of town but when I came to visit family, I often dropped by Black Creek Park to run and would sometimes see Sammy there. I enjoyed conversations with him and catching up on how all our running friends were doing. I had been wondering why I hadn't crossed paths with him at the park and now know why. He will be sorely...

Miss Sammy, my good running friend.

I still enjoy wearing Sammy's light blue Fultondale Stampede 5K embroidered race cap. He was a great Birmingham Track Club runner and Race Director. His countless post-race prizes are legendary.

Sammy was a great runner and great friend. We all enjoyed his excellent Annual Fultondale Stampede 5K at Walker Chapel Baptist Church benefitting the Fultondale Fire Department, with good food and amazing prize drawings after the race. I'm still wearing his light blue Stampede embroidered cap.

Sammy was my first crush, 8th grade I believe. Nice boy from a nice family. So sorry for your loss.

I remember Sammy from our running days. He was a fun guy to be around and always had a smile. God rest his soul

We go back several generations, my friend. Rest In Peace. I´ll soon join you in that Eternal Race.

Sammy was a great guy, great runner and a good friend. He was well known in the running community. If you mentioned the name Sammy, everybody knew you were talking about Sammy Morris. He was also a great race director which is no small feat. For many years the Fultondale Stampede run was a regular entry on the BTC race calendar. My condolences to Sammy's family and many friends for your loss.
