Still remember as a kid running home to catch the Cubs home opener at Wrigley on WGN on April 14, 1961. Sammie, you delivered a walk off Homer to beat the Braves. Never forgot the thrill! RIP, my friend.

When I was about seven I stuck a nickel in a vending machine in a grocery store in Pinole, California and pulled out my very first bunch of baseball cards. One of them was Sammy Taylor. I was a Cubs fan, so I was quite excited, and he always held a special place in my memory because of that.

Sorry to hear this. I believe Sammy was an original New York Met. I have his baseball card. May he RIP! Proud to be a fellow South Carolinian!

Not sure if you remember me but I knew you from VBS at Mills Mill church. And I was older than you so never really met. But Sharon Lynch is my sister. I only knew Sammy when I was growing up as the baseball star and MLP from Woodruff. But I got to know him while visiting my Dad Buck King while he was at Woodruff Manor.
