Not sure what to say?

I didn't know Sam but was told about him by a friend. I can see that he was a good man who made a huge difference in the lives of many people, and that he was deeply loved by his friends and family. My prayers are with you and him.

I'm a hiker who has walked in my beloved hills of Massachusetts for decades and every chance I get. It was my good luck to have been picked up in Cheshire by Sam a few years ago one evening as the darkness came at the end of an exhausting day. He brought me to the Harbour House. I was instantly taken by Sam and Eva. Someone might think it was the influence of an endorphin or the elation at the conclusion in comfort of a tough week long hike alone in woods and hills. But I think not. Rather,...

People liked Sam almost immediately upon contact, in itself a rare quality. He had an uncommon sensitivity to others that inspired confidence and trust. Getting to know Sam better meant discovering a brilliant mind, a virtual polymath who was an expert in many medical areas and knowledgeable about the edges of disciplines as diverse as Physics and Art History.
Sam, a friend as well as an adored husband, leaves us all much the better for knowing him. Ne Plus Ultra.

Sam was a great guy, he always had a smile and a kind word. He lived life to the fullest.

Dear Eva and Family, No one who knew Sam will ever really say goodbye. His gift to us was knowing him. His legacy is how he changed us all. Mark Amuso is my son-in-law. I am thankful to Sam every day.

My wife Karlette and I only met Sam one time at Stephanie and Mark's wedding...although the time was short he impressed us both as a sweet and noble man.

Eva, you know what Sam meant to me, and to my family. He was truly family to us, as are you, and my heart is both breaking for you and all of us who've had to say "Goodbye for now," and rejoicing because he's forever free from pain. My inadequate words can never pay tribute to Sam in the way he deserves, but my heart is shouting volumes about what he meant, and will forever mean. Life is only richer for knowing him, and that is a priceless gift.

Much love and unceasing...

Dear Family Members, I met Sam in the fall of 1982 through the ski patrol. We skied together until he left that service. He was my teacher, mentor, and friend. His sense of humor and demeanor were truly priceless; and, I enjoyed interacting and sharing time in his company. There was never a dull moment when Sam was around. He touched many lives and I am certain each one was lifted up and enhanced by the contact they had with Sam. He will truly be missed by many. My memories of him...

Dear Amuso Family:
I, too, met Sam through the ski patrol. But my fondest memories belong to the sailing world. I got Sam so interested in sailing that he order a San Juan 23, sight unseen at a fall boat show. It was built over the winter in North Carolina, The following March, Sam called me one Fri. morning and said he was "picking me up" later that day and we were going to N.C. to pick up his new boat. We drove the round trip, non-top and Sam wanted to "test it", so. we lauched in...
