Dr. Samuel Robert Billups Jr.

Sam Billups was one of the most noble people I have ever known. Despite his considerable professional accomplishments, he was a profoundly modest man. He was always building people up. He single handedly created a cadre of people in education who hold doctorates because he was constantly pushing rising talent forward. Whatever success I enjoyed in my life, a huge part of that I attribute to his support and continuing friendship. I rejoice he lived a long full life surrounded by Mrs. Billups...

You were an incredibly inspirational leader and a kind and wonderful human being. You will be deeply missed Dr. Billups. May you forever rest in Heavenly peace before The Lord.
