As an Upper West Sider and Riverside Park dog walker, I knew Sam indirectly through his wonderful wife Suzanne - and I met Sam once. Over the years, I met his many gallant dogs. They all bore the same message: that Sam was a loving, smart and terrific guy. No dog - or wife - could ask for more. Sam's presence and spirit were always in the park with us. They will be there still.
