Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Sam's passing yesterday when I called to wish Libby happy birthday. Libby and I were friends and roommates at WKU and have continued that friendship for 50+ years. I was a bridesmaid in Sam & Libby's wedding in 1968. We watched our families grow through the years with pictures, phone calls and visits. Sending Libby my love and prayers and sharing her loss.

To the family: I am so sorry for your loss!! But be sure that Mr. Brown left his mark on the world!! I was in his home room in 7th grade and math class in 7th and 8th at LC Curry!! Also he was our girls softball coach in 7th and 8th grade!! He was such a good man and teacher!! He made math fun and I never liked it before him. I named my beloved cat Sam! I am now 70 years old but those times were some of my best memories!!

Dr Brown was a long-time friend and a wonderful person. He was an exceptionally good father to three wonderful children. Although our relationship drifted apart as time passed and we grew older, a reality I will always regret, I will always remember Sam as a genuinely decent man who made many significant contributions throughout his lifetime. I offer my sincere condolences to his family. Whenever I remember Sam, I will only think of him kindly and lovingly. I'm glad I knew him.

Sam was my boss and later my friend. He saw the big picture and spoke in plain terms. I valued his wisdom and his stories.
