Prayers for the family, from TCU classmate LH Webb

So very sorry to hear this news. Sam was a cool cat in High School. My sympathy to his brothers and his sister, Debbie. And of course, to his parents.

I am so very saddened and extend my heartfelt hope to the family that they be strengthened to endure this tragic loss. Sam was my friend. He had, in my opinion, a humility about him, an authenticity seldom found these days. He had my trust in now there´s an empty place, a debt, that I will try to satisfy with more kindness toward others.

My condolences to the family and friends of Sam. I worked in accounting at American Forest Management. When Sam came to Charlotte for meetings he was always so kind and would always speak and ask me how I was doing. He was truly a kind person and he will be missed.

Sam was a good friend from high school. He is the one who introduced me to soccer in 9th grade and we commanded the center of the soccer field as halfbacks. He was indefatigable...never ran out of gas like the rest of us! My sincere condolences to all of the Carltons. Malcolm Butler SCDS class of 76

Dear Elizabeth, Isabel, and Sara Cail, We are so deeply sorry to hear this. We will hold you in our hearts and prayers. The Rawls Family

My deepest condolences to the Family from Philip and Rose from Andros South Bonefish Lodge. We will miss you we cherish our time together it definitely will not be the same. To the Carlton Family be strong we will keep you in our prayers. We love you guys .

I am so sorry for your loss. Sam was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and son. He was also a true friend to so many. It was such a pleasure and joy for me to get to know Sam. Our time in Andros chasing bonefish over these last 15 years was the highlight of my year. Sharing the day on a flats boat with Sam was always a delight. The conversation was always about family and it was clear that there was nothing more important to him than his family. He always lit up when he talked...

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. I have fond memories of Sam while we were together at SCDS.
