I was Sam's neighbor on Holyoke Street and grew up with his daughter Cindy and son Don.
I will forever remember him as a kind and gentle man, and one heck of a gardener.\
Thank you, Sam, for your service to your country and your town.
Thank you, too, for being one of my heroes.
Rest in peace.

Sam was such a sweetheart at the Soldier's Home. Always interested in what was going on with my Dad and concerned about his welfare. He was a very competitive Bingo player and was a blast to play next to.
He definately will be missed!!!

I worked with Sam at the fire station as a call-man back in the 1970's he was a great mentor, always had a smile. I moved to Holyoke street in the 80's and used to talk to Sam during our walks downtown, RIP old friend.

Cynthia, Don and family... my sincere condolences. I had the distinct honor and ultimate pleasure of caring for and getting to know Sam. Sam often reminisced about his early days , jobs and involvement in the community. Sam was very interested in the well being of Easthampton and it's future. I totally respected Sam's ability to adjust to his surroundings and make the best of it. The World War 11 generation is a fleeting population...only to be admired and remembered for their...
