Not sure what to say?

I am very late to posting this. I studied, at his home in Packer Park with Frank DiBusolo many years ago. Then Sam opened his music store on Moyamensing Ave. Long time ago, I think I was the only one, I bought reel to reel tapes from his store. I think he carried them only for me. My folks bought my first guitar from his store, which I still have, a 1965 Guild T-100d. Still sounds great and even the fret board is in good shape as I played with flat wound strings also bought at his music...

Loved going to Sams store, spent many hours there. Sam was a great guy and the store staff was always very friendly. Bought my first Gibson Les Paul from him in 1982. Miss those days. RIP Sam.

Thank you for always being there for us.... rest in peace. take your rest .... until we meet again God Bless.

Every time somebody asks for a recommendation on a music store Sam comes to mind. It's been almost 10 years now and just happened again a few minutes ago. Guess you could say he made an impression.

I was in South Philly earlier this evening and drove by Sam's store. I parked in front for a few minutes and thought about the old days of going there at least once a week, sometimes to buy strings for my guitars and sometimes just to look around and talk to the sales staff. I found out about Sam and his business through my father, who went to high school with him. I bought my first Les Paul Custom from him back in June of 1982. I miss Sam and the store. He was a special guy and the store...

I just heard about Sam. My condolences to Rita and Luisa, and the rest of the family.
I used to love chatting with Sam, especially hearing his stories about the old days. Thanks for hooking me up with my greatest passion. I love and miss you Sammy baby!

I am at a loss for words because I have just found out that my greatest mentor, friend and life coach has passed away! I am very saddened because I never got to pay my last respects to Sam.
My condolences go out to Rita and the family.
Sam was the most wonderful person I have ever known in my life. He was more than just a drum teacher to me, he was like a dad to me and by the way a pretty damn good drummer too. I was only 16 when Sam started to teach me.He took great care and patience...

Dear Rita and family, I was so sad to hear of Sam's passing. I could not beleive it! Sam is a true saint and has touched so many people with his true kindness he always showed towards everyone he met. I know this will be very hard for you and all of your family and friends, but know that Sam is with our Lord and he will shine down on us everyday his kindness and loving ways.

I lost my dad two years ago and Sam was just like my father. I'm happy to say that Sam and my dad got to talk...

I'm crying at this moment and heartbroken!! I just found out about Sam's passing. I was speaking on the phone with a friend of mine who plays drums. I mentioned Sam d'Amico and he told me he passed away. I told him that Sam was the nicest person I EVER MET IN MY LIFETIME and I'm 56!!
I loved his sense of humor, honesty, love of family, his great stories and knowledge of music. We laughed together for many years.
I can still see his great smile. We loved to talk about food too.I used to...
