I was Sam's Spanish 3 teacher last semester. I can still see him in class, in his seat, speaking Spanish with his elbow partner as we did some activity. I have a few stories to tell about him that make me smile, but would prefer to share them in person. I am terribly sad but know that I will always remember him as the kind young man that he was. The last day I saw him, he made the effort to look at me in the eyes and thanked me for being his teacher. That gesture meant the world to me. I...
