Not sure what to say?

Mr. Dolnick was our principal at Von Steuben High School in the 60s. He was a kind, compassionate man who took the time to know the students under his care. I always felt a special bond with Mr. Dolnick and was very fond of him. He inspired me to be the best I can be. My sincere condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing.

I was a student at Von Steuben High School, graduating in 1968, and remember Mr.Dolnick fondly, although I was a sarcastic kid at the time.

My fathe Herb Sachs as a child

He ate dinner at my house when I was 12 and 13 because my dad Herb Sachs was one of his Assistant Principals at Von Steuben High School at the time. A straight up warm hearted all around good guy. I had the pleasure to e mail with him before he passed. My condolences to the family and loved ones You are blessed to have had him in your lives.

It's been 45+ years and yet I still have fond memories. May he rest in peace! God bless!

I remember Mr. Dolnick well as the Principal of my high school, Von Steuben. The '60's were a turbulent era and he handled the students in a dignified, professional manner. I am happy to see he had a long, productive retirement full of many accomplishments. My condolences to Mr. Dolnick's entire family on this loss.

I was a student at Von Stueben and graduated in Jan of 1966. Mr. Dolnick was the best principal I had and made an everlasting impression on me. He was a very understanding principal and will be missed

Dear Family,
Sam was always a "mensch" and a good friend who was always available when a need arose. May his memory be for a blessing.

Mr Dolnick was my Principal when I graduated in 1957 from Belding School in Chicago. After all these years I still remember his kindness and warmth. He introduced our mostly Protestant student body to Judaism through Hanukah hymns. Our music teacher ( I'm sure at his encouragement) taught us to sing "Oh Hanukah, Oh Hanukah" and "Rock of Ages" ( not the one I learned in church) which we performed at the Christmas assembly. I loved those hymns and it is one of the few things I still remember...

I remember Mr Dolnick as Principal at Von Steuben H.S. in Chicago back in 1964 when I was graduating. A very nice man I got to know working Free Periods in the office at school. Dorene Diamond
