Samuel Troy Forrester, 91, of Des Arc, AR passed away Thursday, January 17th, 2019 surrounded by his three daughters.
Troy was born October 17th, 1927 to Della O’Rella Buchanan and William Fernando Forrester in Des Arc, AR. He married Pauline Frances Tarry on December 8th, 1945. Together they had three daughters, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. They spent 72 years together.
He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather that spent many hours welding and on the road as a minnow truck driver for Saul’s Fish Farm. All though he was a man of few words, you always felt welcome in his home and would never leave the house hungry. He always had a willingness to help others. He will be greatly missed on this earth but we take great comfort that he has been reunited with his loving wife.
Troy was a decorated Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Army and served over in Japan during World War II.
Troy is proceeded in death by his wife and his parents. He is survived by his daughter Sheila Holland and husband Tommy of Dec Arc, AR; Tarry Johnson and husband Billy Don of Des Arc, AR; Bonnie Coleman and husband Zachary of Cabot, AR; grandchildren Shane Holland and wife Candi, Trey Holland and wife Erica, Tarry Don Johnson and wife Jill, Tarrabeth Shelton and husband Max, Kristi Morden and husband Stuart, Jessica Crye and husband Clinton, Kiley Coleman, and Abbey Coleman; great-grandchildren Turner and Jenna Grace Holland, Grayson
Johnson, Logan and Sloan Shelton, Bryar Morden, Coleman, Sullivan, Luella, Judge Forrester Crye; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2018 at Garth Funeral Home in Des Arc. Visitation will be at 10 am with service to follow at 11 am. Bro. Pat Skarda officiating. Pallbearers are Shane Holland, Trey Holland, Turner Holland, Chad Tallent, Stewart Morton, John Whiting. Honorary pallbearers are (Red) James VanHouten, Jimmy Stallings, Lynny McFarlin, Pat Briggs, Don Morton, Derrick Fetters, Terry Stallings, Scott Mitchell.
