Sam was a great kid. He was a great neighbor. He was an overall wonderful person. The world is at a loss from losing such a good soul. I remember your whole family coming to my dad´s service at my home in Novi MI. Love and prayers to all -

Dear Randy, Leah and Sophie: I never had the pleasure of knowing your wonderful boy, and I just met the three of you yesterday. But it was immediately apparent how wonderful a family you are and how much love you have given to your children, eachother and the community. The one thing I can offer is how in Mexico when you lose someone that person will still always be there, because the memory of that person lives on in your hearts. Sam lives on and always will.

To the Gawel family--I don't know if you remember me but Sophia was my mentor when I received the "8 over 80" award. I had a chance to meet your whole family at a luncheon at Fleischman and had the pleasure of sitting with you at the same table. I was very impressed with your beautiful family. I saw the noticed of Sam's obituary somewhere (can't) remember where but I had to write you and express my sympathy to all of you and how saddened I am for your loss. Today is Sept. 27 and I hope...
