Not sure what to say?

Pace and Jim,
we are so very sorry the hear of Mr. Sim passing. We just found out yesterday.
I do know that they were to of the sweet's people I know from Newberry.
My Dad and Mom always had good thing to say about them. They always had a kind word for everyone and willing to help out in our school functions.
We will keep you both in our prayers.
May god be your comforter.

Sam was also a long time member and past president of the Newberry Lions Club. Lion Sam was indeed always willing to help those in need and he always had a smile for everyone. Our condolences to the entire Getzen family.

Mr. Getzen was a great friend and Christian mentor to me and my family. We will miss him, but are happy that he will now be reunited with Mrs. "G".

Mr. Getzen was a patriarch of Newberry and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Getzen was my boss at the Campus Shop and Bookstore for 23 of my 28 years working there. More than a boss, he was my mentor, spiritual advisor and surrogate father at a crucial time in my life. I can also confirm that he was "a man slow to anger and quick to forgive." His "wisdom" was truly amazing and those that dropped by the Bookstore to exchange thoughts, ideas and stories were many. Honesty was a very important employee attribute that he required and seemed to have an uncanny...

All are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Getzen was my boss at the Campus Shop and Bookstore when I went to work there in '58 between my junior and senior year of high school. I remember him very well. He would come in in the mornings and sit on a desk and would talk with us (I was in the bookkeeping area in the mezzanine - upstairs.) He was so gentle and kind you could not help loving him. I worked at the Bookstore a little over a year and I never forgot him! He was a wonderful man and I know his family will miss...

To the Sam Getzen Family: I am so sorry to hear about Sam. He was one of my favorite people alone with Geraldine. I so enjoyed make them desserts while living in Newberry. Now he is with his sweet wife. Sam was a man that never changed. He was the same gentle Man every time you saw him. He radiated love where ever He went. God seems to be calling a lot of His saints home this year. Praying for the family and wish Mom and I could be there. God bless you always.
