When all is said and done, what I remember about my Uncle Sam was his love of family, his pure heart, and the special relationship he had with his "Bro" Al.

Dear Aunt Mildred, cousins Michael, Neil, and David. It has been way too long since I last saw, or spoke to my Uncle Sam, and for that I am full of regret.
My memories of him will always be of a loving, caring and proud man whose love for his family dominated all that he did. What a legacy he has left.

The last time I saw him, before he left a restaurant, he stopped and stood at the doorway and looked at me across the room, smiling. I returned the gaze.
