Read MoreWhat a very sad day for me and the Tucson medical community. I met Sam when I was a resident physician at the U of A in 1972. He inspired all of us to do more for our fellow man and to be the best we could be.
I remember him most for that wonderful sparkle in his eyes. We all loved him dearly, and will miss him greatly!

Our love and prayers are with the Goldfein family. Despite our profound sadness at Sam's passing, I feel so very grateful to have known Sam, and to have called him my mentor and friend. Words cannot describe how very much Sam meant to us when we needed him most. His insight, compassion, humor, and wisdom will be sorely missed.
