Dear Jerry, Howie and families,

I am so sad to hear about your father's passing. I loved him so much for all of the joy he brought to my mother. He was such a gift to all of us. We are very grateful to you for welcoming my mother into your hearts. My deepest sympathies for the loss of such a special, special man.

Sam helped make my mother's last few years very special. He was very caring and watched over her like he had known her all his life. I know my mother loved him and was heartbroken when they were separated for a short time due to one of Sam's illnesses. It was a true love story and when they were reunited by accident in physical therapy there wasn't a dry eye in the room. He called himself my assisstant since he took wonderful care of her when I wasn't there and I will always be greatful. ...

I met Sam Spet 1975, working for Allegheny County, I learned alot from Sam, and appreciated our relationship, he was kind, loving,and smart,all in all a great guy, I kept in touch with him for 31 years and recently visited him dec, 2006 and im so glad i did, again sorry i missed his funeral, God bless Sam

I am very sorry that i just found out about my friend Sam, We met on Sept, 1975 when I was a very young man working for Allegheny County, Sam was wonderful ,sincere,loving man ,we kept in touch for over 31 years , i visisted Sam Dec 06 and Im glad I did , Again sorry I missed his funeral
